
Kina Beach Community Pathway Project
With Support from Tasman Area CommunityAssociation (TACA)
Purpose
Community-led initiative focused on improving safety, accessibility,
recreation, and environmental connectivity within the Kina Beach area.
Project Overview
The Kina Beach Community Pathway aims to establish a safe walking and cycling pathway extending from the beginning of Kina Beach Road through to Kina Beach and Kina Peninsula.
The vision is to create a safe and attractive shared-use pathway for:
- Mothers & Children travelling safely,
- Families and elderly residents,
- Cyclists and walkers, Visitors and tourists,
Community recreation and wellbeing, where appropriate Native tree and coastal planting, Safe walking and cycling access, Community recognition signage acknowledging supporters and contributors, Potential seating/rest areas and educational/environmental signage.

Community Partnership Opportunities
The project seeks collaboration with: Local residents, Tasman District Council, Local businesses, Community organisations, Environmental groups, Funding bodies and grant providers
This project will:
- Improve roadside pedestrian safety
- Encourage active transport
- Provide safer walking and cycling access
- Strengthen community connectivity
- Support tourism and recreation
- Enhance environmental and community wellbeing
- Create safer movement for families and visitors
- Reduce conflict between vehicles and pedestrians
